Prayer Requests/Outreach Updates:

If you have a prayer request, we would be happy to post it here. Know that you will have many prayer warriors petitioning to our Heavenly Father on your behalf. If your request is of a more personal nature and you prefer not to have it posted, please let us know. Our elders will be faithful to pray for you. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,  present your requests to God.  (Phil. 4:6)

2012222-family-photoDear Praying friends and family,

This past year has been one of many changes for us as a mission, and as a family. With the closing of the school at Hoskins, our support center, we have had a bit of fun setting up a homeschool coop with the help of two excellent teachers and most every parent helping out in some way.  Read more. . .

grandma-joyce-resizedWell , where do I begin? My mom (Joyce Hale) had the appointment with the oncologist today and found out that she does have an aggressive form of cancer and it was present in all her lymph nodes.  She didn’t receive this information nor much from the surgeon so this was a bit unsettling–more for me than her. She is scheduled for a pet scan next week to see what areas of the body are affected. She had a very thorough appointment with the oncologist where she told him she would pray about where the Lord wants her to do the Chemo and radiation that they are recommending. He was receptive to her faith and she told me she witnessed to everyone she met today. Seriously–she is my hero—every time she faces something new she just takes it with grace–she even reminded me as I was over helping her this afternoon to “rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS” and of course I mumbled some half hearted response. She countered with” we are supposed to rejoice regardless of the situation. God will go with me through this–He always does.” So my prayer request is the Lord makes it very clear what she needs to do——— Personally, He probably wants her in those waiting rooms witnessing! I don’t assume or attempt to know anything–this will be just another journey with my Mom–and I am glad to go with her. Please keep us all in your prayers and I will try to be faithful in the updates .

Dear Family:

Dennis asked us to pass along some info regarding “Living Prayer” materials: — STUDY GUIDES: Even though the online form contains a notation indicating there is a limit of two study guides that can be printed out per paid book, Dennis is graciously extending the offer for us to print out an unlimited quantity. There are extra copies at the back of the church.  — BOOKS: Dennis will be happy to sell books to anyone who was at the Seminar (or anyone who wants to buy a quantity for a study group) for just $10 per book. Let the office know if you’re interested. — BOOK MARKERS: (This is a side note from Deb). There are bookmarkers printed out on card stock, but that silly lamina-tor has once again eluded our grasp. If anyone knows of its whereabouts, please let the office know. Thank you!  You can access Dennis’s website by going to: http://livingprayer.net/

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES COMING YOUR WAY!!!!!!

easter-basket-with-cross1EASTER OUTREACH  -   HE IS RISEN!   Mark your calendars! HOCKINSON COMMUNITY CHURCH RESURRECTION CELEBRATION & EASTER EGG HUNT

  •   Saturday, April 7th , 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

As we reach “across the street” and celebrate the incredible price Christ paid for us, it takes many volunteers to make this happen. This family has been so faithful to help in the past. We look forward to another successful year! Here are some things you can do:

  •   Pray for obedient workers and for seeds to be planted for God’s Kingdom (and good weather too!)
  •   Provide cash donations. We will not be asking for candy or plastic egg donations this year. Please indicate on your check “Easter Outreach.”
  •  Volunteer on the day of the event. Deb Mattern and Lar White will be recruiting help. If you would like to volunteer, please let one of them know.
  •  Watch  for upcoming sign-up sheets for snacks and other needs.
